The Artist Bio

Serena Nassini is the founder of Nassini Fine Art and she is an Italian professional Fine Artist, Painter, Klezmer Clarinettist and Art educator based in England since 2013. Born in Italy, she has been a visual artist and art teacher for over a decade in many communities of practice. Serena holds degrees from the Goldsmiths University of London (Master of Arts: Artist, Teacher and Contemporary Practices, year 2015) and from the New Academy of Fine Arts of Milan (B.A. in Painting and Visual Arts, year 2013).

Her artworks have been displayed in UK, Italy, California and Greece. They have been featured in numerous independent exhibitions, feminist events and art fairs organised by groups such as the Nasty Women collective, Adept Gaze collective and TedxUCLWomen among others. Her original, accessible and conceptual work openly tackles urgent issues of local and global health, sustainability, intersectional feminism, privilege, workers rights, music, flow, love, freedom, growth mindset, decolonisation, inclusion, equality, human rights and civil rights.

She is currently exhibiting and selling her own artworks and prints, working on commissioned pieces and teaching. She has taught art lessons, workshops and courses in various settings such as fine art shops, schools, community centres, homes, universities and online working with children, teenagers, adults and vulnerable adults. Serena creates and delivers online Drawing and Painting courses in English and in Italian, drop in (practice based) Art Workshops and she also runs regular online Art for Wellbeing sessions through various organisations. She has also been playing the clarinet for 15 years and has focused on klezmer and balkan music during the last 6 years.
