"Magic - Loud Thoughts" materialises the need of the artist to be more visible in the public sphere. This visibility has to be gained in eco trans-feminist frameworks in order to demolish the patriarchy and allow alternatives to flourish in a healthy and enabling environment.
In this specific case, the professional artist as a non binary cultural creative and business owner has the duty and the need to create spaces where to reclaim human and civil rights that are not available or granteed.
A profession that was and still very often unaccessible to Lgbtq+ people and to individuals who have socialised as women becomes in this image possible and necessary through the use of symbolism. The figure in the artwork has the head detached from the body - her/their mind is rising in the air, enlightened by rays of sunlight in the sky. She/they are lifting above the discrimination that is currently protracted towards women, trans folks, LGBTQ+ communities, black and brown people, disabled people, the poor and the global south.
THE PAPER
The paper gives muted blacks with even colour reproduction, and excellent detail. The surface has minimal texture with a chalky smooth cotton feel which creates smooth colour gradients. It has a delicate surface, so we recommend extra care when handling.
